Here are my final pieces from my last project! A lot of hand sewing involved in all pieces, but I am pleased with the final outcome and I think the colour palette worked really well.

More inspiration
While researching my futuristic theme I came across tropical fish, I really love the colours, shapes and patterns, I would like to use aspects of these in my final piece.
I then went on to research deep sea fish, even though they are not the most appealing fish to look at they do have very interesting shapes and textures!
I then looked at the coral reef and really liked the shaped and colours, followed in to looking at the micro-organisms, so many interesting shapes that I would like to experiment with!
This reminds me of a series of straight stitches!

inspiration
I have started a new project which my theme is futuristic. I have been looking at fashion, hair and also architecture. I went down to Quayside and took these photos of the Sage as I like the curves and glass paneling, and also of the millennium and tyne bridges, as I like the structures.

Stitching
Here is a my sampling of some hand stitching, that I doing for my Printed and Constructed final piece. I have used a variety of stitching including: Sateen, fly, cretan and chain. I enjoyed experimenting with different weights of thread and found that the satin stitch suited a thicker embroidery thread or cotton, while the fly stitch suited a machine embroidery thread so that you could see the detailing.
